Discovering the beauties of the Karst Plateau and the Slovenian side of the Istrian Peninsula
An excursion to explore the vast Karst Plateau and admire Trieste from Socerb Castle (in Italian, San Servolo), which enjoys spectacular views of the Gulf of Trieste and Koper.
The tour continues in the city of Hrastovlje where an imposing fortress dating back to the 16th century hosts a Romanic church decorated with beautiful medieval frescos. The most famous is the Dance of Death, representing the impotence of both pour and wealthy men in front of death.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, transfer to Piran, one of the most beautiful Slovenian towns on the Istrian peninsula, featuring picturesque Venetian architecture, with walls, towers and narrow paved roads. Visit of the historic centre of town.
Back to Trieste in the evening.
